The Sound Dept. delivers high standard sound design and bespoke music for television, cinema and digital media.
Conceived by François Gamaury and Ludovic Morin in 2008, the pair have been working together for nearly 15 years.
François has been an gigging around the London electronic scene for a few years as well as releasing records under various names and on different labels (Club AC30, Lona Records, Multi, Lobe Records).
His signature sound of blending cutting edge electronic with an acoustic, almost indie instrumentation has been often qualified of visual and cinematic.
He's just released his last single "Little Baby Eyes" under the moniker Franz Kirmann for Lobe Records and is currently putting final touches to his first album.
Ludovic's background mixes sound engineering with classical music training. Working extensively in the studio and in the field, his recent focus has been live and studio recordings for various bands and orchestras.
Last year saw him recording and mixing Sigur Ros live in Paris as part of the high profile Take Away Shows of the french collective La Blogothèque.
He has also written scores for fiction films, TV and advertising in France and is praised for his uncompromising approach to sound design.
Both François and Ludovic have been involved in each other projects for the last 10 years,
The Sound Dept. was a logical progression in their respective careers, a way to formalize their longstanding collaboration.
